Natural History - All Ages Welcome
Corvids, the Genus Corvus, thrive in human-dominated environments and are familiar to almost everyone in Boulder County. You’ve undoubtedly seen these loud social birds soaring above the trees, cawing at your window, or even picking through the trash. In this class, you’ll learn about how they inspire mythology, how they interact with humans, and how they socialize within flocks and family groups.

Dave F - Volunteer Naturalist
I am an avid naturalist with an academic background in ecology. After a short career with the National Park Service, I had a long career in technology. For my encore career, I participate in citizen science projects, work on native plant landscapes and am an active birder. Love to travel with horses and dogs.

Dona A - Volunteer Naturalist
My childhood memories are endless joyful hours playing amidst miles of orange and avocado groves in Orange County CA. Summer camps and wilderness training in the Sierra and Rocky Mountains fostered an intense curiosity of nature’s many-layered secrets through self-reflection, learning, and the sharing of those secrets with others. After too many years working in Silicon Valley tech I have emerged to celebrate the natural world in Boulder County. Come celebrate with me!

Heather V - Volunteer Naturalist
Heather Valey is a Texas Master Naturalist with a graduate certificate in Conservation Communication. She currently works as a nature educator with Colorado State Parks, where she led popular bat walks in Eldorado Canyon. Heather loves bringing the outdoors to life through stories and shared discoveries, inspiring people of all ages to see nature with curiosity and care.
