Natural History - Seniors
Join volunteer naturalists for a slow, scenic loop at Bald Mountain to explore spring, summer, and fall wildflowers of the foothills. This 1-mile trail includes some rocky, narrow sections and gentle elevation gain. We’ll take our time, enjoy benches along the way, and appreciate the season’s blooms.

Betsy N - Volunteer Naturalist
I greatly enjoy exploring Boulder’s trails with family and friends. Retired from the Nature Conservancy, I’m excited to share my love of plants and the natural world through the Volunteer Naturalist program!
Michael C - Volunteer Naturalist
I retired here from the east because of my love of Colorado and the great outdoors. I have been an avid photographer for more than 35 years and made many trips to Colorado to photograph its beauty. I enjoy chasing wildflowers, hiking, jeeping, fishing and photographing all of it. Boulder County’s open spaces/mountain areas give me great joy. Being a volunteer naturalist affords me the opportunity to give back to the residents of the County and share my passion for the very special place we live.
Tim L - Volunteer Naturalist
I grew up in northwestern Ohio. My favorite place was always outside. I have an undergraduate degree in Biology. Living in Colorado has been a great gift, and I need to give back to the community in appreciation for all I have received and experienced. Becoming a volunteer naturalist is the perfect way to meet that need. It combines my curiosity about the natural world, my love for the outdoors, and the opportunity to provide service to those who also call Boulder County home.
