In 2019, Parks & Open Space implemented a 50 acre forestry treatment at Reynolds Ranch to maintain, restore and expand meadows and aspen habitat. Slash piles are created from these operations where leftover forest debris is stacked in large piles and then burned in the winter when snow is on the ground. Once these piles are burned, a "scar" is left, which is a disturbance that could potentially invite invasive plant species. With your help we will seed and mulch these scars to promote native vegetation. Once registered, you will receive an email with more specific project information and an electronic waiver that needs to be submitted prior to the project. **This project cannot be used for court ordered community service Special Notes on COVID 19 Group size for the project will not exceed 10 people. All participants must provide their own mask and wear it when 6’ distancing cannot be maintained. Participants must also provide their own gloves, snacks and water. Parks & Open Space will provide all necessary tools--sanitized before and after usage.
