Join volunteer naturalists and astronomers from the Longmont Astronomical Society for this stargazing program. The Hunter in the sky is one of the most iconic constellations in the northern skies. Discover the myths, stars, and celestial wonders within Orion, from Betelgeuse to the Orion Nebula. The presentation will be at the picnic shelter, followed by stargazing in the parking area. The Longmont Astronomical Society provides telescopes. Bring a chair or blanket, a light jacket, and a red flashlight, and get ready to enjoy a night out with the family!

I have a BS in Marine Science from UH-Hilo. Currently in school for GIS and work as a geospatial analyst. I also work as a professional aquarium mermaid around the country and am a Scuba Instructor at Ocean First. I live in the foothills with my husband and four dogs. We love to be outdoors, identify, ask questions and be silly. I love everything water and geology. Lets nerd out on our environment and share it with the community <3
I retired from Boulder County Parks & Open Space in 2022. I love sharing information about the natural world and our local history with children and adults. I also love teaching astronomy and helping people better understand how celestial motion works, and how dark skies are important to us all.
I grew up in northwestern Ohio. My favorite place was always outside. I have an undergraduate degree in Biology. Living in Colorado has been a great gift, and I need to give back to the community in appreciation for all I have received and experienced. Becoming a volunteer naturalist is the perfect way to meet that need. It combines my curiosity about the natural world, my love for the outdoors, and the opportunity to provide service to those who also call Boulder County home.
