I have lived in Boulder County for 42 years, coming here from Pittsburgh, PA for my first job out of college and never leaving! I have always felt most at home in nature. Hiking gives me a chance to slow down, explore, and continually learn from the world around me. What I love most about being a naturalist is sharing that sense of wonder with others —helping people notice the details, understand the stories behind what they see, and develop their own connection to the natural world.

I’m a Boulder native with family roots in Mexico. I grew up spending summers on my grandfather’s farm in Chihuahua and was fortunate enough to be exposed to the natural resources of Colorado through school trips and summer camps as a teen. All of these experiences helped foster an appreciation and love for the outdoors in me. I love to hike, camp, fish and birdwatch, and most importantly, I like doing those things with people who haven’t or don’t do them often.

I am a lover of plants, a student of native plant gardening, an avid hiker and a retired psychologist. I've spent most of my adult life in Boulder learning this land while working at Counseling & Psychological Services at CU and teaching at CU and Naropa. I look forward to engaging with others in deepening our sense of connection to this awesome place, and in opening our senses to the land and water and plants and critters whose lives we are entangled with.
