Native Species Planting

Volunteer Work Projects - All Ages Welcome

The newly constructed Corral Trailhead at Heil Valley Ranch was spared significant damage during the Cal-Wood Fire, thankfully. However, this trailhead is need of some “native plant love” to make it more drought tolerant and beautiful! Using native plants in restoration is hugely important for long-term resiliency and ecosystem function. The plant materials we are using for this trailhead rehab were salvaged out of the Peck Native Seed Garden, Boulder County’s in-house native seed production program. This material was originally collected on open space properties, so it’s perfectly fitting to put this material right back onto open space! There may be a little bit of hand-pulling/weed management involved, but the focus of this event is to get these plants in the ground. We hope you’ll join us for this opportunity to give back to Heil Valley Ranch!
