Natural History - All Ages Welcome

The Pleiades, also known as the Seven Sisters, is one of the most recognizable star clusters in the constellation Taurus. Discover how this brilliant asterism has inspired ancient myths, guided explorers, and captivated astronomers across cultures and centuries. Presentations will be at the picnic shelter, followed by stargazing in the parking area. The Longmont Astronomical Society provides telescopes. Bring a chair or blanket, a light jacket, and a red flashlight, and get ready to enjoy a night under the stars!

Maximum Participants: 35

I grew up in northwestern Ohio. My favorite place was always outside. I have an undergraduate degree in Biology. Living in Colorado has been a great gift, and I need to give back to the community in appreciation for all I have received and experienced. Becoming a volunteer naturalist is the perfect way to meet that need. It combines my curiosity about the natural world, my love for the outdoors, and the opportunity to provide service to those who also call Boulder County home.
