Volunteer Work Projects - All Ages Welcome
Native seeds are the bee’s knees! Using native seeds in ecological restoration is essential to building resiliency and diversity in our special ecosystems. This is where you come in! Volunteers will help BCPOS’s restoration efforts by hand-collecting the seed of a variety of plants, including grasses, sedges, wildflowers, shrubs and trees over the course of the summer and fall! Agency botanists will be on-site and provide plant identification during the project. Minimum age is 5 with adult supervision. Staff will continuously monitor seed development at a variety of open space areas, so the exact location of projects will be determined about three - seven days before the event. We’ll communicate project details to registered volunteers within that time frame. Thank you in advance for your help! I'm looking forward to working with you!
