Join Boulder County Parks and Open Space for an on-site look at one of Colorado’s most challenging invasive species: Rush skeletonweed. This event begins with a short but difficult walk to an active infestation site where participants can observe the plant’s growth form, identification features, and impacts on native ecosystems. Afterward, we will work together to remove Rush skeletonweed from a steep, sunny, and unstable hillside. Staff will demonstrate safe removal techniques, discuss why this terrain presents a unique management challenge, and provide guidance throughout the hands-on portion. This event is ideal for those who enjoy physical outdoor work and want direct experience managing invasive species in difficult terrain.
