I have had a life-long love of science, teaching, and the outdoors, so I'm very happy to serve as a Volunteer Naturalist. Geology was my first field of study. My working career included software development, leading a small educational nonprofit, and teaching high school science. I served as a Boy Scout leader and robotics coach, and hiked the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine. In 2019 my wife and I retired and moved from Ann Arbor to Longmont.

Camping across the U.S. with my family, I collected bugs, leaves, fossils, and wildflowers tagging alongside park naturalists. In college I studied biology, music, and psychology, then toured the US / Mexico with a band, ending up performing in Italy. With all of its natural beauty and historical sites, Italy lacked the programs / parks I'd experienced growing up. Retired now from IT management and from raising a family in the US, I love exploring Boulder County and sharing it.

Boulder has been home for over 20 years. I live in the mountains near Walker Ranch, where I also volunteer. Originally from NY, I ran a creative writing school there, but moved here because of my love of nature and mountain air. Learning about the natural world, history, and about healing modalities for people and earth have always been passions. I also write, am a mom, practice yoga and other energy work, and play harmonium. I love sharing info and connecting people with the awe of nature.
