You’ll learn about the diversity of wildflowers in Boulder County from the plains to the alpine, where and when to look for them, and some interesting stories about some of our native plants. CancelI am an avid naturalist with an academic background (WAY back background) in ecology. I participate in citizen science projects, work on my native plant landscapes and am an active birder. Love to travel with horses and dogs.
I'm a retired land planner, nurse and attorney. I have been interested in the natural world since elementary school, with a particular focus on native plants and ecosystems.
Originally from Arizona, the Colorado Plateau is the landscape I most feel at home in. In 2004, I graduated with a B.A. in Environmental Studies (emphasis in Natural History and Ecology). Worked in land stewardship and ecological restoration in Texas before moving to Boulder County and eventually being a stay-at-home parent for the last five years (with an emphasis on nature adventures). Volunteering is a wonderful way for me to share my curiosity about nature.
I love to photograph and identify wildflowers. I enjoy many of the Boulder County parks, but I am most familiar with the Carolyn Holmberg Preserve at Rock Creek Farm.
