If you attended our Earth Day Extravaganza in the morning (OR NOT!) and wanted to help even more, we have the event for you! We will be helping the Water Resources staff from Boulder County Parks & Open Space AND the City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks by clearing out the Walden Ponds ditch. This ditch runs from Boulder Creek all the way to the ponds. We need to clear out the brush that has accumulated over the year so that the water can flow freely and more efficiently to help us maintain water levels in Walden Ponds. This is also a great opportunity to learn a little about how the water rights work in this area and why it is so important that we keep these ditches clean. We will be using loppers, hand saws, and rakes to clear out the ditch. The terrain is uneven, so this is considered a moderately strenuous activity. We will meet at the picnic shelter at Walden Ponds at 1pm. All necessary tools and work gloves will be provided. Every participant must fill out a waiver prior to the event. Please take 2 minutes and go to https://waiver.fr/p-SGdWf
