Natural History - All Ages Welcome

More than half of the owl species in the U.S. have been seen in Boulder County. These owls live here during parts of the year, and most will build their nests here. Join volunteer naturalists for an indoor slide program to explore these fascinating and diverse creatures and learn about the adaptations that make them expert hunters.

Kirsten Profile Photo

Kirsten K - Volunteer Naturalist

I am passionate about being, teaching, and learning in the great outdoors. Some of my most defining memories have been outside from activities like backcountry skiing, peak-bagging, and tracking animals. These adventures have given me a healthy respect for mother nature, wildlife, and the environment. It is my hope that the volunteer naturalist program will fuel my passion and help me to encourage it in others.
