Hikes for Seniors: A Stroll with the Birds

Join us for an easy 1.6-mile walk around Lagerman Reservoir. Take a glance at what ducks are on the water and the shorebirds that line the reservoir’s edge. The trail is flat, with a shelter and benches to sit and rest.

I have worked for many years as a scientist, teacher, presenter, and medical writer, but I love learning about the outdoors and sharing what I've learned. I have also volunteered for many years as an ESL teacher (in English, with adults from countries around the world) and love working with English language learners. .

I have lived in Boulder County since 2006 and have been a Volunteer Naturalist since 2009. I have loved all the amazing experiences I have had here in the county with all things nature. I have special interest in Birds and in native wildflowers and grasses. Teaching has been the focus of my life and I enjoy working with all ages. It is a privilege to share experiences in nature with the community.

I've always loved nature and the outdoors, I especially love hiking, birding, and backpacking. I'm on the Board of Directors of Colorado Field Ornithologists where I serve as treasurer. I have recently retired from my position as a Psychology and Neuroscience professor at the University of Colorado Denver and look forward to spending a lot more time outside and sharing my love of nature with others!
