Natural History - All Ages Welcome
Discover the quiet beauty of the shortgrass prairie, a native ecosystem in Boulder County. Prairies, along with rainforests, are crucial for storing carbon. They also provide habitats for endangered animals. These animals include black-footed ferrets, burrowing owls, and ferruginous hawks. Bison, elk, deer, pronghorn, prairie dogs, box turtles, and rattlesnakes are also found there.
