Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day (TKMBD) is celebrated annually in October. Join the Boulder Mountainbike Alliance and Boulder County Parks & Open Space for a morning of riding the beginner and kid friendly trails at Heil Valley Ranch. This event will have mini-skills clinics, route suggestions, bike decorating materials, and educational information. - This event is recommended for families with kids ages 3 to 10 who are new to mountain biking and want to learn more. - Free demo mountain bikes will be available or you can bring your own mountain bike and helmet. - Guided rides with Boulder Mountain Bike Association for all ages start at 9:30 and depart every half hour. - Giveaway! Don't miss your chance to win a Strider balance bike (recommended for kids ages 3 to 6). - Come anytime between 9 a.m. to noon for bike decorating and independent exploration of the trails. - Children must be accompanied by an adult. By signing up for this event, you agree to the Boulder Mountainbike Alliance waiver. See link below.

Michelle Marotti was born and raised in Fort Collins, Colorado. Growing up, she spent nearly every weekend with family hiking in the mountains. Her passion for Colorado and the outdoors led her to seek a degree from Colorado State University in Natural Resources with an Environmental Communication Concentration. She has worked for Boulder County Parks and Open Space as an Education and Outreach Specialist since 2010. Other hobbies include running, snowboarding, reading, and drawing.
