Celebrate 50 Years of Parks & Open Space with a Behind-the-Scenes Water Tour Join Boulder County Parks & Open Space as we celebrate 50 years of stewardship — and explore how we are “Rooted and Reaching” with our Agricultural Resources Division. This is a rare opportunity to go behind the scenes with industry experts from our Water Group for an exclusive tour of the Braly and Cottonwood properties — locations that are not typically open to the public. Learn how Boulder County manages critical water resources in the St. Vrain watershed. We will visit reservoirs, dams, outlet works, and measurement devices built after the 2013 flood, and discuss how water is stored — and why storage is so important. At the Cottonwood property, we’ll take a closer look at irrigated agriculture and see firsthand how water is diverted from the river and applied to the land. Tour buses will be provided to make the journey comfortable and enjoyable for everyone. Don’t miss this chance to learn from the experts and see these unique properties up close!
