The Boulder County Commissioners invite residents to take a walk with them at the county’s beautiful Parks & Open Space properties this June. Join County Commissioner Claire Levy and a county ranger on a beginner-level hike to chat about county happenings at Walden Ponds Wildlife Habitat. The walk will begin at the Cottonwood Marsh trailhead, near the kiosk. Scheduled for three different Friday mornings around the county, the commissioners are eager to get out of the office and onto the trails with up to 30 residents for a one-hour stroll and chat. Before you visit county open space, please review the POS guidelines on recreating responsibly: • “Know before you go.” Remember to plan ahead, know your limits, and do not take unnecessary risks. • Enjoy and protect shared public lands. Remember to “Leave No Trace” and pack out all trash and dog waste. • Be courteous and inclusive. People have different reasons for visiting shared public lands and everyone deserves respect and courtesy while recreating outdoors. • Do not park illegally at trailheads.
